“London South RSC has been reviewing ghost service charges over the past year due to resident dissatisfaction and financial strain from the cost-of-living crisis. Errors in misallocated charges highlight the need for better internal processes and monitoring.
Clarion should quickly refund affected residents and proactively correct mistakes by issuing refunds to all residents in a block or estate if one resident's charges are amended.
Clarion should improve communication with clear service charge estimates and bills, use simpler language, and involve residents in creating better correspondence.
In the future, we will focus on addressing leaks, condensation, damp and mould devices in resident homes, including LiveSmart standalone properties.”
